The Master Adept needs to have a broad range of knowledge and skill. While many ranks can be attained doing EITHER brewing OR bartending, the Master Adept needs to be able to do BOTH at a high level of skill.

Bartending skills:
Must be able to work a very complex recipe, such as the difficult version of Kanar. Must be able to create a recipe of at least moderate complexity.

Brewing:
Must be able to brew at least 2 out of these 3 categories: mead, beer, wine. Need not excel in both, but should be very knowledgeble in at least one category.

May be involved in research and development. They are expected to share their knowledge with the younger members of the guild, and take on apprentices.
