This guild is not to be confused with the Klingon Brewers Guild (originally for beer brewers. Their url link is below). The KIBG is for brewers of all alcoholic beverages, including beers, wines, and meads; and for bartenders who enjoy mixing and serving good drink! We strive to perfect our art, and seek to promote Klingon culture by promoting Klingon drink. But as Klingons drink a wide variety of various alcoholic beverages, our list tends to grow...

Joining the KIBG:
Membership in the guild is seperate from the mailing list. Anyone can join the mailing list, but acceptance into the guild is via the Guildmistress. Those interested should submit a letter/e-mail of interest to the Guildmistress (ie, why you want to join the guild), and include brief information about your Klingon persona and real life.
In addition to our official guild ranks, we also recognize Associate members, Honorary members, and Guild-friends (these are without official rank, although they are entitled to wear some of our insignia).
Advancement within the KIBG is granted based not only on knowledge and experience, but also on dedication to the guild (this is more important especially for higher advancement). Some members are purely brewers, others exclusively bartend, while others do both. A member who say, exclusively bartends, may , for example, refer to herself or himself as a "journeyman bartender", if one wanted to get more specific. The rank of Brewer and/or Bartender is a significant achievement, and something to be proud of.

The Brewery Good collection of information
Novice: can pour a beer, open a wine-bottle, and has basic knowledge of drink differences.
Journeyman: can follow an easy recipe for brewing, can mix simple drinks, and has more knowledge about different drink styles than the novice.
Brewer/Bartender: can brew a more complex recipe, modify recipes, mix almost any drink, and has much greater knowledge than the Journeyman.
Master: can create a recipe for brewing, and/or create new mixed drinks, and can explain things to others.
Master Adept: able to write a manuel on the subject if desired. Able to *both* brew and bartend.
Grandmaster: Highest expert, regarded as an 'authority' in his or her field.
